It was in 2019 that the four of us decided to develop an RV park. The thought derived from our own personal love of RVing and Camping. Construction and development was our background and we felt this gave us the ability to achieve this wild idea.

We spent months touring local RV parks we were familiar with to gather entail that would later help. One common trend we were finding was that most of the other parks were small and in need of some serious updating. What we also witnessed was that they were all FULL!

It became very clear that we wanted to build something different than the rest. Whatever the cost, our goal was to create a fun, family-oriented destination that was an asset to all of the guests and the surrounding community.

Once we found the land located in Cooke County, we knew that it was the perfect spot for what we had envisioned. A 36-acre tract on the north side of Lake Ray Roberts in Valley View, Texas. The space allowed enough room for oversized RV lots on 12 acres, and then a perfect preservation area featuring walking trails and lake access points on the remaining 24 acres.

The construction process began in 2020 after delays with Covid and meetings with the community and county officials. Cooke County was straightforward to work with and they were very informative and helpful along the way. We had to overcome some hurdles along the way with supply delays, price increases, and the pandemic, but we managed to persevere and finally complete construction at the beginning of 2022.

Lakepoint RV Resort features 115 RV sites that average 40’ X 60′. Each site includes a 60′ parking space, hard-wired internet, sewer, and an electric panel with 50,30, & 20-amp breakers. We also planted new trees at each site to provide future shade and added a private pond, playground, dog park, and gathering spaces with lights and firepits.

The community center features the main office, a large common area, multiple bathrooms, and a laundry room with four sets of commercial-grade equipment. There is a general store to purchase drinks and snacks as well as RV accessories. The community center includes a kitchenette, arcade games, a tv, and an internet bar. All four individual bathrooms have full showers and dressing areas with protected access.

We are proud to report that as of December 2022 we have 42 guests residing at Lake Point and are looking forward to the growth this coming Spring. It was a tough project that is not for the faint of heart, but we eventually made it to the finish line!
